This shoe supports my feet and legs for 8
hours + on cement floors. I have never been able to wear the
same shoe two days in a row, but because this shoe is so
well made I have worn them everyday. They also repel water,
and can be "dusted off" to clean, making them presentable
for my job.
I love this shoe. It's so comfortable, and this is my second
pair. I would recommend buying one size up from your normal
size. I'm usually a 9, but bought a 10 (size 41) which is
more comfortable, especially if you're going to be wearing
thick socks. I've also got a pretty wide foot, and this shoe
fits really comfortably. I can wear these all day and feel
great. And most importantly, they have great arch support!
I bought this shoe for my daughter for Christmas. She was
very happy with it except that it was too large even though
item description advised sizing up for a half size. She
typically wears 7 1/2 and the recommended 39 was too roomy.
I exchanged the item for a size 38 and it fits fine. Except
for the sizing issue I would give the shoe a 5.
Although I've wanted a pair of these for many, many years,
for some reason I put it off until now. What a mistake. I
bought them because I needed a house shoe that I could also
take out the trash/compost in. They're incredibly cozy,
sturdy, and comfortable. I think I'm now a lifelong convert.
Note to other buyers, a 39 is NOT an 8, as the site claims.
The traditional European sizing system has sizes falling on
the half size, so a 39 is an 8.5, 40 is a 9.5, etc. I don't
think these are the most beautiful shoes ever, hence their
use mostly at home, but you won't find something better for
doing chores around the house and keeping your feet warm in
I could live in Haflinger slippers! When I put them on I
feel like "ah . . . I'm home!". I love not having to wear
socks to keep my feet warm, but just warm, never sweatty
like fleece-lined slippers. The arch support is unsurpassed.
I cook a lot so I'm on my feet from the time I get home from
work till after the dishes are done and my feet are never
fatigued. I often times forget I'm wearing them and find
myself in the supermarket with them on. I never want to take
them off like most other footwear I have.
I was visiting a friend in Anchorage and she had slippers,
which I borrowed during my visit. Upon leaving, I purchased
a pair and have worn them every day of every winter since.
There is a worn place above the right big toe so I'm buying
three more to replace that one pair. They are very warm and
can easily be worn with big, wool socks or barefooted. They
are my winter Croc sandals.
This is my third pair of Haflingers since 1997. I wear them
until my husband says that they are embarrassing. They are
the perfect winter shoe. Around the house they are like
slippers, but you can easily slip them on for a run to the
market or mall. I'm a very busy mother of three. I need a
shoe that goes on easily, provides support, and looks good.
Their clogs meets all of my requirement.
